There are literally hundreds of providers today offering Internet-based digital telephony solutions, often referred to as Voice over IP or VoIP. These companies include MagicJack, Skype, Vonage, and Vitelity just to name a few.
The Anvil communications network generally provides an excellent backbone for VoIP. Customers are generally very satisfied with digital voice quality. It is important to understand, however, by virtue of the fact that a native analog voice signal is being digitized, packetized, and transmitted over a sometimes crowded network, voice quality can be compromised. This manifests itself with occational voice "warbling." On the other hand, VoIP service often offers the opportunity for significant cost savings over traditional telephone service.
Anvil has experience implementing a range of VoIP solutions for our customers. From commercial PBX systems to residential VoIP, we can help you navigate the complex maze of providers, phone sets, ATA and PBX alternatives. We can implement residential VoIP systems as an alternative to Verizon and even utilize existing house telephone wiring and handsets. On the commercial side we recently implemented a completely digital telephony system for the new WISD Jacobs Well Elementary School, supporting over 60 extensions as well as IP based intra-campus communications.
